Mission Statement

We are a community foundation which exists to enhance the quality of life of citizens primarily in Laurens County by linking philanthropic leadership, charitable resources and civic influence with needs and opportunities in the community.

The Need

Laurens County is blessed with an abundance of caring people who watch out for their neighbors and their community in many ways. In addition to its churches, Laurens County has important non-profit agencies with hundreds of volunteers, as well as several private foundations. Contributions to these non-profit entities are used, as a rule, to support operating budgets.

Our community foundation is not a new idea, but one that has been tested and proven successful in more than 600 communities nationwide. A dozen community foundations operate in South Carolina. These non-profit agencies mobilize resources for the purpose of building stronger communities and improving the quality of life of their citizens.

A community foundation is a public foundation 501 (c)3 charity locally managed by community leaders. It can be described as a platform for building a community while creating legacies in a community. Individuals, families, businesses and organizations are able to establish permanent charitable funds that help meet the challenges of changing times.
